Systems

Documentation for the parts of Method that are not one block, function, or component but a mechanism that spans several — a registry, a shared runtime, a settings surface — and the way a child theme takes part in each.

Each page explains what the system is for and how it works, names the blocks, functions and hooks involved (linked to their reference pages), and ends with the extension points a child theme or plugin can use. The reference sections stay the place for signatures and attributes; these pages are where the pieces are put together.

Theme Options

The Method Settings panel: one CMB2 options page, one option, and how blocks and a child theme read and extend it.

Core Extensions

Method’s responsive controls added to core blocks through block filters.

Modals

A registry that collects modals while a page renders and prints them at the end; the Modal block, its panel, and the hooks that shape each one.

Theme Icons

The shared icon set blocks draw from, and how a child theme registers its own.

Image Lightbox

The native-dialog lightbox shared by the Fitted Image and Swiper Gallery blocks.

Plugin Dependencies

How Method declares the plugins it needs and how a child theme adds to the list.

Editor Integration

The Method block collection, breakpoint colors in the inspector, and the responsive-editing flag.

Responsive Embeds

Opt-in responsive wrapping for oEmbed output.
